IAS officers are responsible for the overall administration of a district or state.

They oversee the implementation of government policies and programs, and they play a key role in economic development and social welfare.

IAS officers hold a wide range of positions, including District Magistrate, Divisional Commissioner, and Secretary to the Government.

IPS officers are responsible for maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety.

They supervise the police force and investigate crimes. IPS officers also play a role in counter-terrorism and intelligence gathering.

IPS officers hold a wide range of positions, including Superintendent of Police, Inspector General of Police, and Director General of Police.

In terms of power, IAS officers are generally considered to be more powerful than IPS officers. This is because IAS officers have a wider range of responsibilities and they play a key role in policymaking. IAS officers also have supervisory authority over IPS officers.
