Syllabus of Class IV Recruitment

In addition to Class III posts, State Level Recruitment Commission (SLRC) also released the official Assam Direct Recruitment syllabus for Class IV or Grade IV posts. Candidates may check following section for more details about syllabus.

No of exams: There shall be two exams on the same day, one for posts/ categories of posts for read upto Class VIII category and another for posts/categories of posts for HSLC passed or equivalent examination passed category.

Type of questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
No of questions: 135 MCQs
Total marks: 135 marks 

Duration of exam: 2 hours
Negative marking: There shall be no negative marking.
Selection Process:
 The selection of candidates for inviting them for interview/ skill test will be in the ratio of 1:2. Candidates scoring identical marks in the written examination will be invited for appearing in the interview/skill test, irrespective of ratio mentioned as above.

Class IV/ Grade IV Syllabus Details


The syllabus of the examination for recruitment to the Class-IV Posts shall be in consonance with the prescribed SCERT syllabus of Class VIII Examination and Class X (HSLC Examination) for read upto Class VIII category and HSLC passed or equivalent examination passed category respectively.

Educational Qualifications of Assam Direct Recruitment Exam

Maximum Qualification: The maximum allowed educational qualification for Class-IV posts is HSSLC or class 12th or equivalent examination passed. Candidates having qualification higher than maximum qualification are not eligible to apply for these vacancy.

Grade-III (Category-I)

Name of Posts: Accountant, Cashier, Junior Assistant, LDA, Stenographer, etc.

Educational Qualifications: Candidates who have passed Bachelor’s Degree with Computer Certificate/ Diploma of minimum 6 months duration can apply online for these posts.

Grade-III (Category-II)

Name of Posts: Field Assistant, Fieldman, Foreman, Section Assistant, Soil Conservation Field Worker Junior, Agriculture Extension Officer, etc.

Educational Qualifications: Candidates who have passed HSSLC or class 12th or equivalent can apply online for these posts. (For some posts, candidates should be class 12th passed from science stream.)

Grade-III (Category-III)

Name of Post: Driver
