1. Jack the Ripper: 

Operating in the Whitechapel district of London in 1888, Jack the Ripper is one of the most infamous and unidentified serial killers in history. He targeted and brutally murdered female prostitutes, leaving behind a trail of fear and unsolved cases.

2. Ted Bundy: 

Active during the 1970s, Bundy is one of the most notorious American serial killers. He was charming and charismatic, luring young women to their deaths. Bundy confessed to killing at least 30 women, although the actual number may be much higher.

3. Jeffrey Dahmer: 

Known as the "Milwaukee Cannibal" or the "Milwaukee Monster," Dahmer committed a series of gruesome murders between 1978 and 1991. He preyed on young men, engaging in acts of necrophilia, dismemberment, and cannibalism.

4. John Wayne Gacy: 

Gacy, also known as the "Killer Clown," was an American serial killer who operated from 1972 to 1978. He sexually assaulted and murdered at least 33 young boys and buried most of them beneath his house. Gacy was executed by lethal injection in 1994.

5. Gary Ridgway: 

Known as the "Green River Killer," Ridgway is one of the most prolific serial killers in American history. Operating in the 1980s and 1990s, he targeted sex workers and young women in the Seattle area. Ridgway confessed to killing 49 women but is suspected of many more murders.

6. Aileen Wuornos: 

Wuornos was a female serial killer who operated in Florida from 1989 to 1990. She claimed to have killed seven men, all of whom she said had either raped or attempted to rape her while she worked as a sex worker.

7. Zodiac Killer: 

The Zodiac Killer is an unidentified serial killer who operated in Northern California during the late 1960s and early 1970s. He taunted the police and media by sending cryptic letters and codes.
